Summary Se presenta el caso de un preescolar masculino de 4 anos de edad internado en la Sala de Infectologia II del Hospital del Nino de La Paz – Bolivia, con padecimiento de 6 dias de evolucion caracterizado por fiebre, celulitis en hemicara derecha y parpados, proptosis, oftalmoplejia, quemosis y dolor ocular. Un estudio tomografico de orbita revelo la presencia de absceso orbitario y subperiostico derechos, ademas de compromiso de senos maxilar y etmoidad del mismo lado.
Del material pururento se aislo Staphylococcus aureus. El paciente fue tratado con cloxacilina y drenaje quirurgico con exelente resultado.
