My biggest complaint about this book was that while the df was told from the perspective of several different people, every single “person” sounded exactly alike! Whenever you see a chat starting, buckle up. I have read Veronica decides to die, Adultery, and Eleven minutes. All over portkbello place, traveling to dangerous places with her young son.
They all spoke in long convoluted preachy sentences, the way that almost no one actually talks.

I’ve read many of his books, they were so much better than this. I’ve lived on a battlefield since I was born, but I’m still alive and I don’t need anyone portobdllo protect me. From this intensive interest and use of the Internet sprang his bold new project: The Witch of Portobello. I’ve enjoyed Paulo Coelho’s work before, but this is a very weak novel.
She grows into a woman in search of answers to many questions that arise within a person. Being stubborn as I am, somehow managed to get through it and was left utterly dismayed and with a very bad taste in my mouth. One day she just decides that she wanted to drop out of college, get married and have a baby. I ended up, however, really disliking this book.
It’s better that way: There is a character, Athena, that I never come to care about, and there is no plot. She has a contented life but her mind is not at ease.
The story is told through interviews with people close to the main character and I found this interesting and mysterious. You’d think it would’ve been nice hearing a story from several different point of views, but it wasn’t.
