Heralds of the Morning. The Destruction of Jerusalem. In this 5th book in Ellen G. The first ten chapters or so set the stage with a lot of history. It is a very interesting insight on the history of the protestant church from the destruction of Jerusalem to the second coming of Christ and the New Jerusalem.
The Great Controversy
The book opens with the events surrounding the destruction of Jerusalem as foretold by Jesus before his death and takes us down through the ages, through those who accepted His truth and the price they paid for it, up through the Protestant reformation and rise of Reason as played out in the French Revolution and finally through the future events revealed to the Apostle John in the Revelation of Jesus Christ. Needless to say, I am extremely disappointed. Books by Ellen G. He should understand the nature of the two principles that are contending for supremacy, and should learn to trace their working through the records of history and prophecy, to the great consummation.

I lament the fact that didn’t appreciate History until later in my academic career If you do have an appreciation for History, then buckle your seatbelt because the author unloads a ton information that you’ll want to go research yourself. Volume 1, dealing with Old Testament history, was published in The version of this book that I have was re-published by “Harvestime Books” and each chapter contains quite a bit of anecdotal information pertaining to the topic of that chapter – be it historical dating and time frames, citations from catholic publications, or quotes from various sources during the period discussed.
White was a wacky lady, but she wrote about bible stories in a way that was concise and readable. I am particularly referring to her stories about Satan, the fall, and the postlapsarian couple.
The next day on a train they began arranging plans for writing and publishing the future book immediately on their return home. White then transitions to the events leading greqt to Great Disappointment of and the Biblical explanation for the significant event that occurred in Heaven.
While currently all editions printed by Seventh-day Adventist publishing houses are based on the edition, the first three editions have also been reprinted by Seventh-day Adventist publishing houses as facsimile reproductions, and several Seventh-day Adventist laymembers have reprinted them in various formats with various titles also.

Ellen G. White: The Great Controversy
No alterations in the text were contemplated, beyond technical corrections as might be suggested by Miss Mary Steward, a proofreader of long experience and member of Ellen’s staff. Alfred rated it liked it. I received this book unsolicited conttoversy the mail today and was unpleasantly unsurprised to discover its religious origins. The grace of Christ cannot be purchased; it is a free gift.
Part way through her talk, she went into a two-hour vision in front of the congregation. There are treat major editions of the book commonly called The Great Controversy.
