James gave the reader a great perspective from both Jemma and Elijah’s point of view as they navigated their newly developing relationship. Seduced by a Pirate. And he’s genuinely and sincerely guilt-ridden over it and apologizes profusely throughout the story I just found his reasonings behind this unsavory and cowardly.

We’ve been getting to know Jemma and Elijah over four oof and it definitely showed in the depth the characters had in this book. I laughed out loud at it, and I was moved by it.

Book five in a series and the one I’ve been looking forward to through all of the previous books. Lists with This Book. It was far too obvious that they cared for one another, and the way Jemma in the early pages of the book seems to be manipulating anyone and everyone to begin the seduction for her estranged husband because he “needed some fun” really annoyed me.

For some reason it held my interest enough to keep me reading and by the end I had developed some fondness for the characters, but I think it’s one of the weakest of an overall pretty weak series. In fact, she wants the impossible: Stay Connected to be the first to know when new editions are added. I am a bit undecided on how to grade this book. It’s all about expectations.

The book was plenty hot- although the chess game didn’t exactly get me going as I find chess to be boring, long, and basically everything hhe sexy. Except her own husband! I would have been rolling my eyes instead of patting his chest.

At the end of the book, she is writing a book – about chess! The amount of years they wasted might be too much to allow things to get fixed between them. In this jqmes View all Book 6. Does he want to form a junior football team or what? Or, if one were so inclined, to invite a seduction…to engage in an affaire. I’m a fan of Eloisa James, but to duchses, of course she can do a little wrong.

Elijah, Duke of Beaumont, did believe those rumors.

No, cancel Yes, report it Thanks! Oh damn I was floored. Shows he’s a good character, and not just some sexy rich womanizer. I was almost disappointed that Jemma’s book had arrived–I was enjoying her story too much to want it to end. The story was so powerfully moving! The whole beginning of the book is strange because things are bad between them and yet they both have feelings for each other. I think I’ll add that to the plans for my dream eloias lol. So all in all, while it’s not the best romance Mone read, I was highly entertained, and fascinated by the fact that Ms James, through the power of her writing, convinced me to keep reading.

This book cannot be read as a stand alone book; it’s the fifth book in the Desperate Duchesses Series. Last but not least I think that the cover got messed up at the printers as it looks like a picture that has been overexposed with another picture.

I was afraid it wouldn’t live up to my own hype, but oh it did. I spent the first 4 books of this series thinking that Jemma and Elijah, the Duke and Duchess of Beaumont, were jine most interesting characters of the group even if they are just secondary characters.
